What’s wrong with you, Apple fans?
I love some of the Apple products, and especially the new MacBook Pro. I would trade my Asus laptop to one of this in no time, as it looks so good and has so many functions. Unfortunately, it’s way to expensive, from the start, with the 15.4" model starting from 2000$.
But that’s not the point. I was surfing the Apple Store this morning, trying to configure the ultimate MacBook Pro and i couldn’t stop staring when i saw how much would cost me having 2 GB of RAM extra. 750 $. Are you kidding me? You could get an entire low class laptop for this kind of money, and they are asking so much for a mere memory DIMM. Omg…

Apple Store offers you the possibility to upgrade your MacBook Pro with 2 GB of extra memory, for a mere 750 $ !!!
Having seen this, i got really curios how much would cost me to buy a 2 GB memory stick from any online store, that could fit the MacBook Pro. As they use DIMM’s at 667 Mhz, i found prices as low as 90 $. So, the question is pretty obvious: "Why, just why, are the guys at Apple selling that memory for 750$?" And what’s wrong with those Apple fans who buy this overpriced upgrade? Beats me, but I’m sure they got customers for it…

Well you are a little right about that. The Apple memory prices are just to high. But when you look around it’s not really cheap to but 2×2GB RAM stick.
It’s not but let’s say you buy the laptop with 2 GB on a single DIMM (That’s not the case, as the MacBook Pro comes with 2 GB by default, but with 2×1 Gb sticks), and then put another DIMM later on.
It’s not like Apple Memory is special, is still made by Kingston or Kingmax or something in China…
