Hmmm, strange
I was just doing a basic checkup of my blog this morning and i found something that bothered me: My site was last cached by Google bot on March 8th March 4th. That means none of my latest posts are indexed yet. This is kind of disturbing, as the bot used to come by everyday a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway, i went checking the last bot visit on my other sites, and i can’t say I’m happy with my results. All the blogs i have hosted on Dreamhost haven’t been indexed since March 5th. Some other sites have been visited by Google later on, but none of these. So that makes me wonder if we’re talking about coincidence or something else?
For now, there’s no impact on my traffic, but the fact that Google bot does not come by as often as it did bothers me. So, if you have sites hosted on Dreamhost, could you please check out the last time the bot indexed you? I’m looking for answers, as I’m not worried yet about this problem, but soon i might begin to be…

My Dreamhost blogs seem to be doing ok with daily indexing. I have had problems with hosting providers that blocked the Googlebot when they said they weren’t. I had to move my blog to prove it to them.
Hmmm, but come on, Dreamhost is pretty big. I hope they are not using such dirty techniques. I don’t even want to think what would mean moving all my sites hosted by them, in terms of time…
Mike – 1st of all the screenshot says that Googlebot last visited your site on March 4 and not March 8
. 2nd – i would not trust 100% the google webmaster tools – just set up a google search alert for you URL and you will get an email as soon as a new page is indexed. This is what I do and it usually takes 4-10 minutes to get indexed after I post – and my hosting is in Romania….
Ne, i check my ranking manually. 4-10 minutes? Are you sure? For me it took like 2-3 hours in the past and i have wuite a lot of backlinks. But now, i don’t know what to say anymore…
A fantastic read….very literate and informative. Many thanks….where is your RSS button ?
