Free music is legal now

Posted by Mike in Rummaging the WWW on September 19th, 2007

If you’re sick of having to pay for your music, than maybe you should turn to a place where you can get it for free. Isn’t this illegal, you may ask? Well, with Nexus radio, it seems that is not.

Nexus radio is a completely free streaming radio service, with more than 6000 stations organized on many genres. The cool fact is that every listener can record the playing song and transform it in an MP3 file, compatible with all the latest players, including iPod and iPhone.  All this is done with the press of a single button, and the recorded materials can be automatically named and tagged with ID3 tag information.

Nexus radio offers free music for everyone

All you need to do in order to use the Nexus radio is download a small application from their home site and install it. And you’ll get this free Internet radio with audio in 5.1 Surround flavour and a cool mixer for your songs. Pretty nice.

Hands off for Random Good Stuff for pointing this to me.

  1. What’s the catch? Too good to be true, isn’t it?

  2. No catch, most developers are going the free route these days and monetizing through advertising..etc..etc. It is not uncommon to see a cool piece of software being completely free.

  3. Looks interesting. I’ll download it. :)

I think the catch is that they will release a paid version in the future with more features.
