Do you have a long term strategy?
I kind of noticed that the biggest flaw of my blog is the lack of a long term strategy. As sad as it is, it is true… And this is translated in one of the following faults of each this blog can be blamed off:
- lack of constant quality posts
- lack of targeted articles
- abundance of posts about gadgets and funny stuff
- failure in building some kind of a community here
Well, i always blame my severe lack of time and motivation for all these. But i now understand i need to put together a long term blogging strategy. That’s why I’ve put together a list of objectives for the next 3-6 months:
- Increase my number of RSS subscribers to at least 500 (currently have around 150, so don’t hesitate to subscribe
) - Write quality material and focus more on the SEO/SEM niche
- Engage with readers and other blog owners and try harder to set up a small community of dedicated readers
- Increase my number of readers to 5000+ per day (currently around 1500)
- Maintain my earnings to a level of 1000$+ per month
And how am i going to achieve all of these?
- Put down a couple of "How to’s" "SEO Guides" and some tools I’ve been planning to get coded for some time
- Post regularly, daily if possible. I’m not looking for a co-author for now, but who knows…
- Set up an emergency queue with enough articles to cover at least a week’s worth of posting, for the times i get bored or too busy with other things
- Focus more on the niche
Now, how about you? Do you have any long term blogging strategies or are you just blind posting like i do… ?
