Dell Adamo – another stylish portable notebook

A post written by Mike and published in Gadgets and gizmos

Yea, there’s another one in town. Another stylish laptop that will attack the position of MacBook Air as the best notebook in the upper class of fancy devices. And it’s called Adamo, Dell Adamo.

We’re not going to get into details with this one, but I have to say it is a computer you should check if you want a business companion and budget is not your main priority.

On a first look, this laptop is a marvel of design, with a very nice polished full aluminum body, LED illuminated keyboard and a battery life of above 5 hours. Definitely a laptop for those looking to impress. Oh, and here’s why I mentioned that budget: it will have a price tag above 2000$ , in US. Auch.

And when you’ll see what you get inside the laptop for this kind of money… you won’t be trilled: a Core 2 Duo 1.2 GHz CPU, 2 GB of RAM and an integrated graphic board from Intel that will barely allow you to watch a Blu-ray movie. Plus a nice 13.4″ screen with a bizarre resolution: 1280 x 720 px .

Yes, i know, it’s not meant to be a workstation, but still… they could have put better hardware in this Adamo thing.

Anyway, that’s about it for the first impression. I’ll get back on this subject as soons as i’ll get the chance to get my hand on it (might take a while though for Dell to send the Adamo in my country though… ).

  1. Nice piece of technology, but an Air is cheaper (with $200) and i like Air better than this: larger display, faster CPU and i guess it’s even slim than Dell :)

  2. I just saw a commercial for a mac with 17″ 8 hr battery. I would still by the Dell but how is Apple so much better?

  3. @ionut . Adamo is slimmer. This one has 0.65 inches (constant width), while the MacBook Air has a width between 0.16 to 0.76 inches. Also, the MacBook Air is bigger, you can see that by how much space it has around the screen. I’m not saying this Adamo is better, but has a couple of thinks that make me like it better then the Air. :P

@paul . Not sure exactly what Mac model you’re talking about. If it’s the 17″ Air, that’s a lot bigger than this 13″ one, so it might have a bigger battery.

  4. Well i like the notebook. Slim, sleak and stylish.
