“4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days” wins Palm d’Or at Cannes
Palm d’Or is the ultimate prize a movie can get at The Cannes Film Festival, the European version of the Oscars. Many say that the movies presented here are even better than the American blockbusters, but you can’t really compare them, as these one are more focused on the story and acting quality, while the others marge a lot on famous figures and special effects. Anyway, Palm d’Or this year was won by the Romanian Cristian Mungiu, with the film "4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days".

Cristian Mungiu is the producer who won palm d’Or this year
The reasons i wrote about this is not that the movie was made by a compatriot of mine, but because it’s really good. Different, but good. The story focuses on the life of two female students from Romania, in the year 1987, back when the country was still under communist leadership, and the problems they have to fight in order to be able to make an abortion. Yes, cause that was prohibited and punished by laws back there. The movie is dark, cruel and full of suspense, and will surely impress everyone, especially the persons that didn’t live under communists.

And the winning film is "4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days"
I’m not sure how you can get to see "4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days"if you’re not from Romania, but if you find it on DVD it will worth every cent. Till then, I’ll live you with a couple of scenes from the festival.
